Raymond Dennis Richard 92, of Deltona Florida died, Sunday, January 23, 2022, peacefully in his home surrounded by his family after a brief illness. He was the husband of 67 years to his wife Lenore (Limauro) Richard and the son of late Edward and Catherine Richard. Ray was born in Salem, Massachusetts and later moved to Lynn, Massachusetts where he lived until joining the armed services. Ray was a United States Navy Veteran & Korean War Combat Veteran and he received numerous combat medals and accommodations for his military service. He proudly wore his Korean War Veterans hat and would not leave the house without saluting the American Flag that he flew at his home. After leaving the service he owned and operated Rays Auto Repair until he decided to continue his public service by becoming a Lynn Police Officer. He started as a Patrol Officer until he moved up the ranks to become a Homicide Vice Squad Detective until his retirement in 1989. He was awarded Policeman of the year by his peers along with receiving several accommodations and awards for his service throughout the years. Ray is survived by his wife, Lenora A. Richard; son, Raymond Richard, Jr. and his wife MJ from Madeira Beach Florida. He also leaves his daughter, Former Deltona City Commissioner Diane Obremski Kaiser from New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Ray had six grandchildren, Peter, Christopher, Ashley, Whitney, Derek, Michael and three great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews; brother, Edwin Richard; sisters, Rita (Vasilo) Richard and Catherine (Shore) Richard. A Memorial Service will be held, 1:00pm, Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Baldauff Family Funeral Home, 1233 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, Fl 32763.
